you have to be pretty good at fightan to beat these shits. it's kinda dark in the cave so you should be have like 100 in small guns. bringing ian also helps. go to vault 15 if you weren't there yet then try again when you come back.

Do one attack, use the remaining action points to move away from the scorpion. The scorpion will use all its action points to catch up with you.

just use dynamite to cave in the entrance without fighting the scorpions since your sissy character can't handle them

I think these are the first enemies with decent dt so you need to hit strong not fast. Aim for the eyes i guess

And they suck dick. If the damage mod was 1/1 maybe they'd be worth using, but 2/1 from JHP beats out 1/2 damage from AP in every situation, especially with DT eating up any and all effectiveness before DR reduction has a chance to work.

You can destroy entrance to the caves with explosive pack. You can also hire Ian in Shady Sands, he's really useful in beginning of the game.

Just finished FO1 and 2 and my best advice for FO1 is fuck V15 and just go south of V13 til you reach Junktown, from there go to the General Store and help Killian. You'll get a shotgun, ammo, and you can loot the guys you kill and sell their guns for caps. From there just do whatever, I think I either went to the Hub or Necropolis.

i beat it at level 3 by myself with a 10mm smg and my shotgun.
the trick is to inch towards them and coax them into fighting you one at a time.
also build you character with plenty of action points so you can get more than one shot off per turn
