Graphics are an integral part of a game, I don't want to play something that looks like shit, and I'm not talking about "MUH REALISM".

Gameplay is more important than graphics. A game can have poor graphics as long as it does not harm the Gameplay.

Take for instance a game like windwaker on the Gamecube. It's three generations behind. Graphically, not that great, but the art direction lends itself well to the Gameplay, and overall, it is a good game that holds up today.

Compare that with anothrr game from the same time FF12. At the time, a very graphically impressive game. However, they tried to push too many fancy graphical special effects with magic spells to the point where the system would be overwhelmed. So to fix that they had to put a limit on how many effects could display at once, and magic spells were put on a waiting queue, effectively making all high level spells and magic in general useless. The Gameplay suffered.
