Played for a couple of hours. Mainly doing mission mode for Wagner and Enkidu.

Wagner is pretty fun. Seems to be straightforward but has a lot of good tools and she isn't too difficult execution wise. Hardest thing in her combos so far is doing instant j.2C mid-combo but it's still not that difficult. Might switch over to her full time once I play with her some more.

I liked Enkidu's design but good lord is he made for shitters. I know they said they made him for beginners but basically all of his strings are more or less auto-combos that do pretty decent damage too. B > B > B > C > C > C is a legit combo that does nearly 3k damage with no meter. He also has a counter and pretty good DP. Haven't played with him enough to get a good feel of how he is in actual matches but since his execution bar is so low I'm sure he'll be pretty popular online.

Other than that I messed around with Seth and Linne a bit who were my mains in UNIEL. Only barely touched them though, but they don't seem to have been changed that much. Most of their BnBs from UNIEL still work fine.

If you're US, shop around a bit. It's VERY likely that you could save $5-$10 if you use an HK account instead, their cards tend to be cheaper. His combos look so fucking stylish though. Same with Yuzu.

The Mission Mode in this is actually really good though. Aside from going though the basics, it teaches you optimal combos for nearly every starter normal. I feel it gradually eases you into the combos better too. With the mission modes in GG and BB it would give you some relatively simple stuff and then suddenly jump up in complexity out of nowhere.

Aside from characters like Seth and Yuzu, it's pretty lenient execution wise. For example, for moves that require 41236 input you can do them just with 1236. The mechanics aren't too hard to grasp either. I'd say it's pretty easy to pick up. Though like anything if you don't put the work into it you're going to get beat by people who play more.

Is this the most beginner friendly anime fighter?

Let me start by saying that the Mission/Trial combos are a good starter pack. They teach you a basic combo and then teach you way how to get hit confims using that basic combo from close and far range. Back when I tried playing this I tried Yuzu because she's best waifu and her shit was hard as fuck. This new chick Phonon has some really easy stuff compared to her.

Not sure who to main through. Phonon, Orie (Prettiest girl!), or try Yuzu again.

Depends on how much you're willing to commit. Like some have said, there's no real point in dropping money on one unless you plan on sticking to the genre, unless you're just looking at it as another controller/peripheral ala Racing Wheel.
