I dont plan to use voicechat but i was thinking/hoping this is how it works.

My biggest gripe is game audio without a shitty splitter, as well as the fact that there's no headphone jack on any controllers for console mode.

Oh, I don't really care about that. I actually kinda prefer them to be separated since I could freely control volume levels in both.
Whenever I'm playing on ps4 I have to leave vc if I want to turn game volume up

I've got a mixamp on PC so it'll be annoying to deal with it when I've had good control over it for so long.

And volume control on PS4 is fine imo

I will be just using Discord on my PC like I do when gaming with friends anyway, and just have the switch on the other HDMI channel or a separate TV.
