9S does more DPS from a distance than 2B is ever capable of. A2 can outdamage him in terms of burst with the right chipset if she gets both her Berserk and Taunt off, but obviously that's more setup and a hell of a lot higher risk than just spamming ranged gauntlet attacks with 9S.

Learn to use his heavy combo strings.
Get yourself spear of the usurper or demon's cry and hold attack button to win the game, spear throw is literally the best move in the entire game while bracer charge move shits out immense DPS and activates demon's cry explosion.
His large swords are great for crown control, heavy string of small swords shits out DPS like nothing.
With crit build he's extremely potent because a lot of his moves are multihits.

After a route together with him going back to 2B was awkward as fuck because she has virtually nothing interesting going on for her while he not only has superior damage output but a whole shitload of utility and range plus advanced tricks like going into hacking mode to advance pod program cooldowns.
Just think about him as a mage.

Just understand how to do his heavy attacks. He has almost as many moves as 2B does, just different controls, and he can't use four weapons instead of just two. I think heavy combos are dodge + light attacking at the same time. And as people have said - spears or fist weapons complement his combos the best.

You can try stealth hacking into robots and using remote control.

Use chips to make hacking even more overpowered than it already is. The damage output kinda makes up for the lack of variety in the mini-games, though I agree the game could definitely use more.
