I'm using an ethernet cable, and I play pretty much anything on PC and PS4 without any drops. I also played MK8D and ARMS with no problems. During the Global Testfire, everything worked fine. It was during the Splatfest when every 3 games or so, it would drop me after the match, and sometimes during.

For everyone in the thread assuming OP is just ragequittomg, I can't speak for Splatoon 2 but random online crashes happened all the fucking time in the first Splatoon. Especially in ranked. You would wait for the matchmaking for 5 minutes and then get "the connection is unstable" as soon as the match started, watch all the players despawn one by one, and eventually get the game-halting error message come up. D/C matches also counted as a loss so you would always derank whenever that happened, too.

Again speaking from Splatoon 1, if the host player ragequits it had a chance to d/c everyone else from the game, and since d/cing from a match counts as a loss, everyone would get the derank penalty. Essentially it allowed ragequitters to take everyone down with them. They really need to put a fucking system in place that tracks the context of how a player leaves a match and not just assume everyone is pulling the plug on purpose
