what do you mean? DmC was a success. dmc fans just dont want to admit that because "durr not my dante!".

same with SFV. you can bitch all you want about the game but it will still be more popular than any other fighting game out there even if those other games are fundamentally better.

like Tekken 7, its better than SFV in every way but its never going to be as popular as SFV. hell, i bet in EVO2018. SFV will still be at the top.

I think they should make a bigger focus on the community aspect of the event. The main EVO line up is all about the broadcasting and advertising rights. They gobble up the big games that promote the EVO brand. Unless there is big money involved, like from Capcom, everything is streamed under an EVO broadcast. There are tons of side tournaments at the venue, but they aren't emphasized. I'd rather see proper infrastructure created so that there is growth in every community. More like Combo Breaker.
