Yes? They have been for years. Laptop components are advanced enough to play literally any game, if you're willing to spend a little more on a machine that's harder to upgrade you can play literally all games for the next 5-10 years easy on a laptop you buy today.

You can play games on them, they just lack the fundamental things most PCs are good for. Upgrading and customization. You're stuck at a fixed, overprice price point because you want a gaming laptop instead of a desktop.

Pretty sure I could get two desktops out of the price tag of a single gaming laptop. I'm sure both could run the same games on different settings.
Just buy a desktop. if you're worried about making it yourself, Honestly just buy a prebuilt from Newegg. It's more expensive, but hey it's all done for you. They even have sales on pretty midgrade gaming rigs to where they're around 400 dollars. instead of 600.
Gaming laptops are for the college kiddies to beg their parents for because it's "essential" for college.
