Anyone who's been exposed to more technical, more dynamic fighting games will quickly pass on tekken. Other top fighters, namely Street Fighter, KoF and MK have advanced impressively in their latest installments; but the relic that is tekken just can't seem to evolve, furthermore many combos can be done simply by hitting 1-button, and the nearly "instant-kill" rage art moves are just laughably broken. Instead of a supplying a proper fighting engine, matches in T7 seem to rely heavily on "who can get their rage move off first". So many elements of the gameplay don't even require any sort of skill. Fact is SF hasn't been good since 3s but SFV has the potential to evolve and rise above IV. Once they're fine filling out the roster and new supers/v-triggers/mechanics come, V will probably be playable.

But right now it's all garbage. KOF (despite its looks) is mechanically the most fun fighter on the market right now.

It still doesn't take away from the fact that Tekken eventually had to buckle under pressure and put in supers (in games since AOT) and Akuma (in SF since SF II) to even get people to look their way. That's all I said. Even now, people are only discussing Tekken as much as they are because of an SNK character. No one cares about Tekken's characters or its mechanics- they went and stole what would get them attention from other games and they did it so blatantly and shamelessly. It really is a huge lol.
