First off: this isn't about all the dmca drama, just a question that arose because of it. Is it normal for a composer to get other people to make the music for them but still market the music as being doing by the original composer? RCRU was marketed as having music done by disasterpeace, even going so far as to have a Kickstarter tier named after him and his name appears in their campaign 5 times, but now with all this other information coming out, it turns out he subcontracted two other musicians to make some/all the music for him. Mauer even goes so far as to claim they made up to a third of the game's music (though that should probably be taken with a huge grain of salt). Is this a standard business practice? Was it dishonest of RCRU to say he was doing the music when a couple other people were doing it too, or if it was something that happened after the initial Kickstarter campaign, should they have been transparent about the addition of other subcontracted musicians?
