Ys series is great, highly recommend all entries. Start with 1 and 2, if you don't like em, skip forward to "Oath in Felghana" which is the best game in the series. It's a solid ARPG seires.

Anyway I recommend you Valkirye Chronicles, it run on most Integrated GPUs, and it's 'anime theme', If you like FE probably you will like it, also it have an animated adaptation.
FE series.
Skuklgrils, despite of being a western game it looks really 'anime', and it's fun, run on most chips too.
Dark Souls, it isn't really anime theme but I you have a decent CPU you can run it with some tweaks with Dsfix. I run it with an Intel HD.

It's actually somewhat challenging the first time you play it unless you've been told how to break the game. You can tell that different NPCs have different personalities and buying habits but you have to figure them out by experimentation and it's enjoyable, you constantly feel like you're competing with your customers and if you get tired of the shop system, you can take a break by doing some dungeon crawling which is simple but fun and has good character variety.

It's not the most amazing game ever made or anything, it's just a solid ARPG mixed with a fairly novel shopkeeping simulation all accompanies by some fun writing.

It was one of my favourite hobbies too, I played Maplestory as kid religiously grinding 9 hours a day non stop in ant tunnel and Dota in my later youth.

I suppose it is the competitive and skill/critical thinking aspect that captures my interest the most, however accepting that LoL/Dota/HoN are all cancer and dead, I do not know what to do anymore.

Fair enough if I come off like that, but to be fairly honest I "know" when I see something and will find it interesting, mainly my reason for saying so is because of all the anime rec's in the past I've gotten from 4chan turned out to all be garbage, I can't even explain to you how many times I've forced myself to sit through 12/25 ep seasons given that people say "it gets better bro" only for me to end up feeling like I've wasted my time, with a big enough sample size I would like to imagine that this anecdotal piece of info has some basis to it.

I'm trying not to be a little shit but everything honestly does seem so simplistic and one dimensional, I can't help it
