The Evil Within is probably the best balance of action and horror I've seen in a video game. Games that pull that 'you can't fight back' bullshit just end with the monsters being an inconvenience because an heroing will always be a better option than running once spotted. TEW's limited combat options are much better. If you have lots of supplies and are in an open area the game can feel like Resident Evil 4 but at other points crazy shit is thrown at you and staying alive is very tense and difficult while still active and fun.
