Boss battles were messy as fuck in N64, they basically didn't have enough dev time to QA everything. The same can be said about minigames and movement in general, even OoT was more polished in that regard.

The only thing I miss from N64 is how smooth and fun the Zora swimming was. Even the save system is better on 3DS, I've lost count of how many times I've lost progress during a power shortage, or being unable/afraid to play it during rainy days because you can't save without resetting a cycle.

The Zora swimming is better in the 3DS version. That guys just desperate for (You)'s and reposts that in every thread.

Zora swimming in the 3DS version let's you suspend in place, rapidly sink or rise at will, and move at a reasonable pace. You can still torpedo like the N64 version. The only difference is that now it shares the same button with the electrobarrier (R). But when you run out of magic you still retain the ability to swim like that. It was a compromise cause the 3DS doesn't have enough buttons to do all the new stuff they added to the swimming.
