Nah actually looking back I kinda enjoy its place in the story of the souls universe more than ds3. It had a lot more of a standalone vibe to it, and while it did lack a lot of the substance and depth of the first game, and I think completely misinterpreted what made the original as good as it was, it still holds up on its own. This is as generic as it gets. If you're going to use examples of good music from DS2 you're pretty much limited to the Majula theme and the Milfanito vocalizing in the Shrine of Amana. I've played a ton of DS2 and can't remember a single boss theme, where I can recall loads of themes from every other Souls game, including Demon's Souls and Bloodborne. I really hate how /v/ wrote the transition to Gwyn's theme off as fanservice when it makes perfect sense in the context of the fight and story.
