I think it's safe to say that no one will be playing this game next year. It just doesn't hold up as a fighting game, too slow and no combos.
This should've been made into a battle royal that's reminiscent of shooters. Like what For Honor tried to accomplish but couldn't because Ubisost and shit online. Make it a little faster and make bigger/more complex maps to avoid unnecessary chaos and this game could've been memorable.

I do agree they should have doubled down on a party fighter approach. I like the idea of the party rooms a lot, but the game is kind of stale as a straight up fighter because it's too slow and the defensive options are too strong.
4 player free for alls on larger stages with goofy shit, so that the game played casually felt like a boxing version of Super Smash Bros, and it could have been good.
