As for why the decision it could be a large number of things that make sense like them wanting to announce a new Team Blue game, BBCTB, they want equal representation of their games since y'know just because BB isn't popular here it's extremely popular in Japan. You know, I really feel like I've grown as a fighting game player.

When I first started playing Guilty Gear over a decade ago, I latched onto Axl Low and played him exclusively, but more recently I picked up playing a bunch of Guilty Gear again after not playing for a long time and really began to comprehend Axl Low's weaknesses and started playing Ky Kiske, who I've found to have a much better balance of offensiveness and zoning, while Axl Low is completely about zoning and punishing opponent's who jump into the air.

I like Guilty Gear because I can't simply default to playing the grappler to effortlessly crush scrubs. It is very easy for me to beat bad players with Zangief and Iron Tager.

Good timing. I've been a lorefag since I started playing GG1 in 1999. I had to spend 40% of my youth scouring early 2000s websites and going through ridiculous amounts of hard to find info that ended up being mostly bullshit. Thankfully none of that is necessary anymore. Here's what you do to get started:

>USE THE IN GAME GG WORLD GALLERY I can't stress this enough, it's really accurate, well written, easy to read, and has info I had to give up most of my youth and internet privileges a few times when I was underage, it's a fantastic source
>go to REV from there and then cycle back to older stuff
Here's the canon timeline for GG, keep in mind that AC+ has odd canon status, some things happened but not in the same way as in AC+

I managed to get my hands on the physical drama CDs but I used someone's personal blog from 2006 that had borderline duwang tier translations. I have no clue if it's still there or what the address was, luckily the wiki had the contextual missing pieces. As for Vastedge, it's pretty basic in terms of story even if it was originally going to be a beat em up.

Kind of. It's not a bad PC port, but it's a bit barebones as ports go. The thing about Overture in general is that the campaign is really bad at representing the game in any accurate way. I was actually crazy enough to seek out PvP matches on Xbox Live back when it came out, and it's an amazing mix of Musou, DMC-lite action, Lite RTS elements and it's own balls insane meta (like allowing yourself to get hit so you can open the menu while being combo'd). And that's as much as I could get to scratch the surface. If you want any kind of longevity with it you need other people to play. I think the campaign is worth at least one play through if you're a lorefag. But at a big discount or pirated.

Story mode gives 500k, doing everyone's episodes gives another 500k iirc, completing missions, tutorials, and challenges gives some amount of bonus, and every time you complete arcade on maniac without dying gives 8k, and of course MOM/online give some per win as well. There's also a trick you can do to get some automatically but it's slow af. W$ carries over across versions too I think so there's been a few years to potentially build up all of the above

BB has more unlockable art and a bunch of single player mode, but I don't remember much than that. It doesn't have the mission mode like Xrd tough I think? I think the unlockable art could be nice since there's a lot of fanartist who support the tournament scene, but I don't really care about the single player modes.

I wouldn't say Haehyun, Ramlethal, Leo, Raven, Sin, or Elphelt are gimmicky at all though. They have a couple of weird tricks but nowhere near something like Zato, some not even as tricky as Venom. Jacko, Bedman, and Answer, sure, they're weird, but it's all par for the course (especially compared to something like BB where everyone is 90% defined by their gimmick). I think the mix of archetypes they've add in Xrd+ has been pretty spot on.
