Honestly, getting rid of the lives system is a good call. That system is pointless now, and was only used back in the day to prolong games passed an hour. Nowadays, games can last much longer, and the need for lives is obsolete.

Open world made by the game better. Just as open world tends to make almost every franchise better.

Nintendo Already said they'd be open to doing more third party spinoffs for Zelda and Mario as they've done with Hyrule Warriors and unfortuantely rabbids. A From Software spin off of Zelda would be great but I guess From Software has become too fun and mainstream for the /v/ipsters.
