The fact that you are a body double doesn't bother me nearly as much as the fact that people consistently post end-game spoilers, ruining a superior video game.

I felt a tiny bit cucked, but I think that's the way you're supposed to feel. That's the way the player character feels. But it's your actions that make you who you are, not the person you were born as.

You don't have to be Big Boss to be a badass. I feel like the player was supposed to take something away from that.

You get to play as Big Boss in plenty of other games, if playing as a specific character bothers you THAT much just go play the other games. The Venom Snake twist was a clever way to finally make Big Boss a real villain that even the player can't sympathise with, he betrayed what he stood for and did the same thing to his soldiers as the US government that he turned his back to.

You always play as the Snake, the Pawn, in MGS games. Big Boss using Venom as a proxy is also used for characterization, as he's essentially doing the exact same thing the American Government did to him during the 1960s.

But I guess it's kind of hard to understand when you're a dumb monkey who wants to be spoonfed fifty hours of cutscenes and explanations.

MGSV is a mess but there is something wonderful hidden beneath it all.

You weren't supposed to feel bad about it, the Medic was just a way to self-insert the player into the fantasy without them even realizing it. Kojima thought that's what you wanted; to have your OC Mary Sue nobody be a part of the canon as Big Boss's BFF.
