Is anything from those DLCs singleplayer-related? If not, I'm gonna skip the free DLCs. Not interested in Doom's multiplayer. Gonna play some singleplayer now, though. I can't see this cover without not getting in the mood for Doom. And it's not even the good cover.

I enjoyed it but haven't played it since the beta. Might try again though with the DLC being free. Didn't like having to unlock the weapon sets again after maxing out in the beta.

Plus most of the people I regularly play vidya with just play GTA or Overwatch in one guy's case. And my cheap Canadian friend won't get it because of how much more it is there.

The decision to fund multiplayer DLC instead of singleplayer gets really baffling when you consider that they had been working on QC at the exact same time and its beta would start less than a year later.
It's like they knowingly bet on the wrong horse to spite themselves.

If you can get past noob tubing and the toxicity that multiplayer invites then MP is fun.

Still no mod support (In a fucking DOOM game)
Still no way to have demons running on the map instead of spawn spamming.
Still no way to get more than 12 demons on screen
Still no way to remove the homogayfag glory hole gay kills

Doom actually has fun MP with a lot of modes and snapmap has respectable potential, especially considering it can be used on consoles.

Only reason I don't play it is because I don't do shooters much more. But maybe I'll give it another whirl.

My main hope is that they learn from the feedback for the sequel. Instead of hiring an entire studio to waste resources on a separate lackluster MP experience, they should take a similar approach to what 343/Bungie did with the first Halo Anniversary and Reach multiplayer.
Make your standalone singleplayer game, then make the multiplayer side be a slew of maps and other content for Quake C. That would probably work out a whole lot better than trying and failing to split your target audience,
