The benefit of AMD is that you have access to FreeSync monitors, which are sometimes 1/3 the price of GSync equivalents during sales. I have a 1080 and while the performance is superior I had to save up a shitload to be able to buy a G-Sync monitor to even utilize the extra performance I was getting. The experience is solid now but it is expensive and as a college student working for 15 dollars an hour my money could have been spent elsewhere.
