You're full of shit, Jacob.
The truth is, you hated that bitch, you followed her and dragged her into the car and took her out to the Moors.
She woke up, and you smashed her face in with a socket wrench.
And then you stomped her, you stomped her because she is a drunken whore and she treated you like shit.
You stomped her for all the years you had to take it.
You stomped her because you're such a weak fucking sister, Jacob, and you wanted to erase all memory of it. Go on, try to deny it.

The reason Cole has all these 0 to 100 outbursts in a split second when using Doubt is because the game actually uses Coax/Force/Lie system and the buttons were changed to Truth/Doubt/Lie at the last minute before release due to executive meddling. If you train yourself mentally to treat "Truth" as "Coax" and "Doubt" as "Force", it will make perfect sense to you and never seem out of place.

He was basically saving the department by throwing Cole under the bus. It was a shitty thing to do but I'd probably do the same in his place if only to keep my job and get the heat off the department. They used Cole's case as a front to drive attention away from the internal corruption shit that Cole later figured out anyway in Arson.

It's good from Roy's and everyone else's perspective that works in the department.
Assume you're working there and you're half as crooked as Roy is, so just reasonably crooked but not full on corrupt.
Then comes this holier than thou artist who is ready to fuck up the entire department, himself included, because he's such a perfect fucking school boy glory hound.
You need to throw a guy like that under the bus.

I know, I'm just taking the piss. I still want a rerelease though. I've said this in other threads but the map was made for me. It's boring and empty in terms of open world games but I have a fascination with 1940's Los Angeles so I love just strolling along and looking at everything. There is just so much attention to detail that it's a shame game developers can't reuse maps for other games. It's going to waste.

There's no reason la noir won't get a sequel. Even the original pioneered the technology of face mapping actors for cutscenes, and that technology's only gotten better and cheaper since then.

Team Bondi, the ones who made L.A. Noire are pretty much toast. There was a bunch of production problems and shady business and now they are virtually dead. The best we are going to ever get is a remaster or rerelease. It pains me to say it, but it's true.

To be fair , many Rockstar games are shamefully unused now.

Bully, Manhunt, Warriors, all fun and legitimate great PS2 era games that never got anything more to show. The one exception I can stomach is Max Payne , after 3 he finally found some peace, and making another game would feel kinda off, even if it was the best TPS of all time.

Real reason: The director (who was also a writer) was a super shitty person (look up all the bullshit surrounding Team Bondi) and a poor writer so he made a cheap deus ex machina excuse to get Phelps demoted because he wrote himself into a corner.

Headcanon reason: Phelps identified with the German junkie whore more since she was damaged goods just like him.

that's reaching, pal. he didn't say that.
plus, as it has been pointed out numerous times in this thread, Cole has seen a ridiculous amount of shit in his life. First the war, now in the police force. I'm not justifying him cheating, but it's not hard to imagine he needed someone to connect or identify with, and his wife (unfortunately for both of them) obviously was not that person.

>>
>>384493203

>>
>>384493170
99% never even see him in the previous cases since you need VERY, VERY SPECIFIC TIMEFRAME IN THAT ONE FUCKING CASE to trigger his appearance at all. So for most people he literally comes out of fucking nowhere.
Homicide in general was a fucking terrible desk, I could tell from Case 1 subjectively due to knowing tropes that this shit was the serial killer's doing and I'm bagging an innocent and by Case 3 I objectively knew this fact with 0 doubt to it and yet I was still forced to go along with the game's bullshit and keep bagging innocents for 5 cases straight because fuck you that's why. And all of them happened to basically all but openly admit that they did it despite not doing it. The writing in the entire game really was a piece of shit shlock.

At that point, he was complete small fry. One day he's chasing stolen cars, the other he is in the room with a famous doctor, detective, and a her (keep in mind he didn't know anything about any of them at that time)
Would you jump to a maiden's rescue if you were in his position? She was hit by an openly aggresive, and seemingly hostile that just decided to buy him a drink. Not to mention Roy is many times his superior.

>Murdered fellow marine instead of trying to save him
His choice was either spend a low-to-the-ground 5 seconds to euthanize the guy, or spend substantially more time high on his feet dragging the wounded man back down the hill under heavy fire. Even if he did survive, there was a decent chance the wounded soldier wouldn't have; the other soldiers assumed (rightfully) that he was to die considering the next opportunity to help would be when they made the eventual big push for the hill (too late to help). He did the right thing.
>Shot a superior officer
A consistently inept superior officer who was literally in the process of unapologetically committing war crimes. It was only regrettable he didn't finish the job.
>Stole shipments of army surplus equipment and drugs
Shitty, but good foresight to know that the GIs would not have substantial support waiting for them at home. He didn't make the drug trade in LA, he just made sure the supply was good quality and the proceeds went to parties who needed it.
>Made a deal with mobsters and was surprised when they crossed him
Naive, but not malicious.
>Best friends with a doctor who is clearly a bad guy
That's perspective only we as the audience had. From the perspective of Courtney, he was probably one of the only trustworthy people looking out for him after the war.
>Lied to the police instead of coming clean and got himself and most of his old buddies killed
The police wouldn't have been able to do anything about it by the time things started to go tits up. By the time the murders started happening, LAPD already knew who was on the chopping block but did little to actually protect them. Vice was too corrupt to meaningfully stop Cohen and company, and turning himself in early would have just meant everyone involved would get locked up for life rather than possibly being able to work his way out of the trade.

Courtney was naive and emotionally volatile, but he was by all accounts well intentioned.

Nah fuck that, just watch LA Confidential and call it a day

I liked ho the Vanilla version of the game without DLC was so obviously cut up that they refer to events as having taken place, and you sont have a fucking clue.

I would rather have rdr for ps4 desu. It runs so terrible on ps3

>You aren't exactly a genius for figuring something the game was egging you towards that whole time.
Anon I never claimed that.
I was merely saying that anyone with half a brain can figure out already in Case 1 what's going on and by Case 3 it's impossible not to see it coming unless you're clinically retarded.
That's why I said subjectively sure in Case 1 since it was just 1 case and things could've gone differently for all you know. But by Case 3 it's an objective fucking fact that it's a serial killer despite everyone except Cole pretending that it's not.

Bekowsky with Biggs a close second. Galloway was a dumb useless old fuck, Roy was pretty neat when he wasn't selling me out, and Ralph was barely even a character.

Truth in television. Overwhelming majority of solved murders are by someone close to the victim. His problem was that he was fine just quoting statistics instead of actually doing his job.

Anon, back then adultery was a crime.
As in actual crime, no different from robbery or murder.
It's not like nowadays where it's a civil court matter to be resolved individually by wronged families if they want to.
Back then it was actual fucking crime.

It was big because Cole, as Vice cop, doing adultery (a vice crime) is the same as if a Homicide detective was a serial killer or a Traffic detective a car thief.

Except that particular option is the correct one anon, it's just the guy in the video is a moron and picks wrong evidence/backs out. You're supposed to present "Husband's Alibi" on his Lie.
>>
I say we bust in there and find the goddamn evidence!
