Get a Slim if you're poor or don't feel framerate increases and the occasional quality bump isn't worth the extra $150-200.

Get a Pro if you don't own another PS4, want slightly better framerates, stabler framerates, access to Boost mode for better/stabler framerates on older games, better graphical fidelity, and knowledge that you'll have the better running versions of games compared to the base PS4. Don't buy it if you want 4K, don't fall for that nonsense since it's almost always worse framerate wise. If you're using it for 1080p it's worth it in the long run.

It's not worth it though. Most games take a 5-8 FPS dip at the 4K level for just a graphical improvement. You usually don't even get the fancy things like extra AA or AF like 1080p users do.

I bought PS4 a bit over a year ago. Since then, I played Destiny, Bloodborne, Digimon Cyber Sleuth, FFXV, Persona 5, and Yakuza 0. I have a decent gaming PC so I prefer to play multiplats on PC, PS4 is mostly a secondary platform for me, to play games that aren't on PC.

For the most part. They either get better AA or AF and stabler framerates. Select games get textures and resolution downscaled to 1080, so usually it's 4K downscaled to 1080p. The Tomb Raider games, Ratchet and Clank, The Last of Us, and Horizon Zero Dawn for sure do it that I know of. I think Knack does the downscaling as well but it messes with the framerate since they uncapped it on the Pro.

The PS4 Remote just released, finally getting to watch all my movies without a stupid controller.

My PS4 Pro is loud as fuck in some games like Hitman with unlocked framerate. It doesn't overheat but fan is spinning like crazy and also has annoying high pitched whine.
