What is the best F2P shooter on the market and why is it Dirty Bomb?

It's not, the best F2P shooter on the market is TF2.

TF2 has a population of 1,800,000 in the last two weeks (a peak of 60,000) while Dirty Bomb had 170,752 in the last two weeks (a daily peak of 4,000), which is barely enough people to find a game.
TF2 has way, way, way more content than Dirty Bomb does, in official maps and weapons, plus a wide variety of mods and custom maps.
Thanks to rocket jumping, sticky jumping, and many more advanced mobility tricks, TF2 has a higher skill ceiling than Dirty Bomb, which does have some advanced movement but on a smaller scale.

Therefore, Team Fortress 2 is an all-around better F2P shooter than Dirty Bomb. It's got more replayability and more people to play with.

Not even among F2Ps, but FPS in general. The main reason is that all other FPS currently available are just... worse. TF2 isn't amazing anymore, but other games just aren't even as good as current TF2. Not even AS good.

Right now the "Ubercharge ready!" command does nothing on Scout, Soldier, Pyro, Demo, Engie, Heavy, or Sniper.

If you could replace it with a class-specific gameplay line for each of those classes, what would it be?

I would love that, but I doubt they would considering whatever was spent on the license.
In addition I can't think of a game ever being un-fucked the way GitS would need to be.
Removing the customization by locking weapons to "classes", making abilities spammable, adding mobility options when the way weapons handled is not conducive to fast hip-fire.

The game was fine in handling, it needed more maps, more game types and a way to edit the UI. Those were the biggest complaints I ever heard about it. It was a fine CS clone otherwise.
Now it's the bastard child of Paladins and Call of Duty.

Dirty Bomb is a pretty solid shooter. High skill ceiling and fast movement objective based gameplay. Would've been 10x better if it were like a 30 dollar game you could mod and host your own server though. Too bad. I still play it casually.

I'm just infuriated that they didn't realize the reason people played their game was because the gameplay was mostly vanilla and skills had to be earned and even then weren't gamebreaking. You still had to be good enough to use them. Now you can just roid up as Borma every two seconds. Everyone being mostly the same and customizable for each player was a PLUS in an age full of these retarded class based games. I don't want to have to fucking think about "the meta" and team composition in this game.

It's like they didn't think of the characters skills at all when deciding on changes.
Why would a character that essentially makes a sniper nest out of any location she wants, not use a sniper? Why would you force her into close range?
And the guy that has drones that track enemies is usually going to assault, but instead he's stuck with sniping as his only option, unless you buy these new SMGs (with in-game currency).

I'm not even that big into sniping, I just loved using a LMG on every character I played because it was more about how the character could use the weapons and not "You are x class, you play this way".
