I'd be perhaps a little bit excited if this came in a standard edition. I want literally nothing from the LE this time, not even the artbook as PBS era art was generally pretty terrible. I sort of put up with it before but it's getting old.

If you want semi-decent story go for 3DS games - Burst and Deep Crimson. The story might not be stellar but still is way better than anything in Versus games and now also PBS.

Shame that 3DS timeline was killed off.

Not with all the characters around. That's the series main problem right now - there are too many characters and none of them has enough screentime to advance any story whatsoever.
Back when it was just 10 (plus few secondary/background), everyone got proper exposure and story. Now SK is getting even more literally-who characters, PBS is just a start.

I don't know, man. At least in SV, the nu Hebijo main story was pretty well done. It really highlighted just how bland and terribly written the rest of the game was. It did a lot with little time and new characters. We just need more realistic conflict and action, and less whining about revenge or justice.

I liked the Youma, but "unite and fight the monsters" was not the conflict I was thinking of. More like Hibari falsely defecting to protect everyone, and using that as a chance to steal back the important scroll and possibly kill the superior Hebijo students, failing, then learning through how they treated her what said enemies were really like as people. Thinks that involve failures and learning from them, or real issues like being unsure of one's goals, or dealing with the pain of being hated for having talent at something.

Burst actually had pretty good writing, thinking back on it. All while still having some levity with cute booby ninja moments inbetween it all.
