I remember working part-time during high school and upgrading my shitty eMachine just to play this game. I couldn't afford the expansion so I just stuck with Rise of the Zilart.

FF11 remake when?

I loved this game, I would always come back to it every once in a while. I would love to have that kind of experience again.

You`ll be hard pressed to find many around here who still play xi anon, absolutely loved my time in Vana'diel, great experience.

Doubt it, they are currently working on a mobile reboot of xi, but its being developed by Nexon. I don`t think the servers will close anytime soon.

I doubt they will ever release an offline version of FFXI. The servers might still stay up for a while yet, as long as they continue to generate a profit I'm sure they'll keep them live. The current state of the game is pretty much playable solo with trust NPCs as it is.
Also I haven't heard anything about that mobile game that tied into FFXI in a while, is there any new news?

it's not a mobile reboot it's literally the game on mobile, with special servers that have some different loading zones.
