While you are playing an edgy murderer who glides by bleeding from his wrists, your character actually manages to act human and even develop somewhat from Angry McEdgelord into a better virus entity than the template he was born from.

Its a revenge story with a bit of character development. Certainly not the best story, but more than I would have expected from this game. Of course the sequel managed to be precisely the game the original promised to be rather than work from its ok beginnings.
