I wasn't feeling it at first but the Sonic Mania hype is hitting me like a truck.

What should I play to tide me over. I bought the Sonic Mega Collection and Sonic Gems Collection for the GC.

Are the 3D games worth playing? I remember kind of liking Sonic Heroes

The Classic Trinity + CD. Maybe even a few of the Game Gear games and Sonic Advance 1 if possible (though not necessary).

Heavily depends, but you don't really need to play them since Mania's closer to the classic 2D games.
