I did play a scholar in FFXIV. It was the most fun I had with that game since you could micromanage your fairy while also dealing DPS in certain bossfights.

I like to play all three roles. I feel it helps me understand things better.

I play a healer in FFXIV. But I also play tank and DPS. I prefer support roles, but not when they're stuck in a rigid trinity system. My ideal is something like a Monk where I can DPS and heal. But MMOs never do it correctly.

Being a healslut is usually the least demanding role. Take something like Overmeme

I like healer because its the most complex autistic timing role and I like to help others and don't like hurting people.

This means I'm completely dependant on my team's performance which is almost always awful and very depressing knowing we are going to lose because of skill, positioning, reaction time, etc.

I try to be positive and not yell, but it is very difficult. Nobody ever helps me either and I always end up defending myself. Fortunately, because of this I have become one of the best global players at defending myself.

It really depends, gameplay tends to be the deciding factor for me most of the time. Warpriest in Warhammer Online for example, would probably be what I'd point to for being the apex of fun for me. I enjoyed healers in Rift as well, but I couldn't get into any of the healing classes in WoW.

Healer is literally mirror imaging dps positioning and just as glass.
Dps is the one who is just shoot and defend yourself.
You don't even have to take your teams positioning into account because you only have to do this when a flanker attacks, while a healer must take everyone's positing into account simultaneously and deal with anyone's bad decisions and accommodate for them.

I always have the most fun when the tank is a touch undergeared or the DPS don't have the defenses to deal with adds. Knowing that a single heal misplaced is the only thing separating us from a wipe is the most exhilarating feeling.

I meant "least demanding" in the sense of "role with the least burden". If there's a problem Pharah or Bastion or whatever and I'm playing DPS, the whole team expects me to deal, and will (deservedly) bitch me out if I can't. When I play Mercy/Ana/Zen, the team mostly ignores me while I do my job

I enjoyed healer in RO because we could take monsters size and heal and buff them.
Also healers could kill demons and undeads with heal and holy skills.

Healer has the most responsibility, they just don't lead the party. It is easily the most stressful job in challenging content. When you fuck up, everybody is looking at you, even though it might not be entirely your fault to begin with.

Yes. I started in the first guild wars as a monk and I've been hooked ever since, even though no other games I've tried have come close to that. I enjoyed following damage and protecting spikes got through. It's also satisfying and funny to get a wand/staff attack in on our spikes and assisting in the kill. I like being the one in charge on how long we can push for, calling out splits from the other team, and things like that.

Used to play dwarf bard in LoTRO, the heals and damage where really nice, in OW I play Ana, for the most part, healer is only fun if you have enough utility with them so your not always healing, or completely reliant on your team. Healers are the cement that hold teams together.

Oh did you miss out. I got hooked on it after reading a post online how to play monks properly. It went into all the little details and after tweaking the keyboard layout to how I wanted it I got to work practicing. RA and GvG were my favorite modes, then the alliance battles, Jade quarry/FA. I wonder if the guys post is still up
