I love the character designs, the world, the silly lore and music. But the gameplay don't feel quite right. It's too defensive, having to constantly wait for an opening, because god forbid you throw the first punch. And moving can be a bit a of a chore.

I'll give it another shot at some point.

funny you say that because it's too offensive at high level play, since both players are trying to build their rush metre constantly. timeouts can still be a thing though because the timer is so short

what i do is i hold jump and wiggle that fucking control stick as fast as i can. stretch back if they throw something like a slapamander or a chakram at you, and jump out whenever they grab. the best thing about helix is his dodging capabilities despite low mobility, and the fact that he ducks automatically after jumping. all it takes is knowing which way to stretch and when to jump or duck. it can be difficult but its extremely rewarding when you pull it off
