Let me tell you about a shmup called DoDonPachi DaiOuJou Black Label.

The game came out in 2002. There is a true final boss named Zatsuza that wasn't discovered until like 2010/2011ish. The only reason anyone had any sort of clue that it even existed is because there was a song on the soundtrack called Zatsuza that wasn't used for anything else in the game. In the internet age, a boss remained secret for almost a decade. You have to do a bunch of retarded shit like beating the game without using bombs to unlock the 2nd loop, and then doing a bunch of retarded shit on the 2nd loop to make the true final boss appear.

In 2016, 6 years after the discovery of the true final boss, ONE person finally beat the entire game without dying. You can watch this on youtube here:

https://youtu.be/qMR-eYd232Q?t=1689

It took 1 person 15 years to be able to beat this game without dying. This is a level of "git gud" that mere mortals cannot comprehend.

Dude, none of the Mega Man games are really that hard. As someone who's played the entire series, I will say they tend to be challenging, but never really ball-bustingly tough. As long as you have perseverance, and look up the boss weaknesses, anybody could beat them.

This doesn't really get that hard until 3rd loop, but it's still manageable. 4th loop onward is true hell which few have witnessed, simply because you only need to clear 2 loops to "beat" the game. People sure don't bother clearing through the whole game 3-4 times just because they wanna try the harder difficulties.
>>
I beat Aladdin on Sega Genesis when I was 7.

But to be fair, it's probably the easier of the Disney games at the time. Later on when I was 9, I finally beat Donald Duck Quackshot on Genesis, which wasn't actually that hard, but the India level was fuck-off tough.
>>
>>384418229

I don't believe you. At all.

There are point-percentage credits that can be missed solely because you didn't talk to one single random NPC who had no relevance to much of anything at all, and you would have to play through the entire game again after beating it, scouring the entire fucking game - every chapter, every segment, every fucking area, looking for that one NPC you didn't talk to, which could easily be missed progressing through the heaps of side content that shitty game had.

No. I don't believe you. I call absolute fucking bullshit.

I guess it all boils down to how much spare time you had to dedicate to shit like that. I used to be able to shit all over Halo 3 on legendary. Going back a few years ago, I got destroyed and couldn't even aim for shit because of years of not playing on consoles and just playing PC after my 360 got stolen in 2009.

"That kid" is on 4chan, I see.

I beat Command & Conquer 1 GDI campaign when I was 8 without using the sandbag exploit.

The reason why that's noteworthy is because the GDI missions get significantly more difficult than the Nod missions do later on. Nod only had maybe 1 tough mission, and it was a no-base mission that required you to circle a bunch of groups around a lake and take out a certain base structure within a full base without losing them all. Everything else was easy thanks to light towers and stealth tanks.

In case nobody knows what the sandbag exploit was, you could essentially build an endless wall of sandbags into your enemy's base, block their entrances, block their production structures, choke them, and then fortify a base behind theirs and wreck them from behind effortlessly. It trivialized the shit out of any mission that allowed base building.

Beat this as a kid. Still can't manage to do it 20 years later. I get stuck at the boss that flips the level around as it constantly scrolls, and that's as far as I get before game over.

Still love playing it from time to time between working 2 jobs and trying to have a social life. Neat little underrated gem.

This is Daifukkatsu Black Label which was released in 2011 and Zatsuza was beaten ~1 year later IIRC.

Artificial difficult is such a fucking stupid word

What the fuck does it even mean

Any difficulty in a video game is artificial because it is man made . That's the definition of AI, man made

Just say it's unfair, cheap or bullshit difficulty. Nobody knows what you mean when you call it that and if they say they do they're lying.

People who use the term artificial difficulty should be gunned down

>>
>>384421176
Artificial difficulty usually refers to a game that is touted or designed to be "difficult", but that difficulty comes from non-organic means, such as pure trial-and-error, rather than a culmination of skills gained over the course of the game.

>>
>>384421432

I tried to do it once, but goddamn this game is fucking long and repetitive. It gets boring as hell way before it ends.
>>
>>384421348

A good way of describing artifical difficulty imo is to use a Bethesda game as an example.

Lower difficulty makes enemies manageable while presenting a threat for a while, whereas higher difficulty just turns everything into outrageous damage sponges that can 1-2 shot you while you're whittling away bits of their HP for minutes.

Fuck this game. It's what broke me out of my completionist streak. Even with a guide, there's so much trivial and dumb shit you have to do at such specific moments that it's almost as if Square made this game as a "FUCK YOU" to all the retarded fan girls that wanted a better conclusion to X's original love plot.

Spent 2 months with a paper guide, slowly getting to 97.88% when a friend of mine saved over my file one night. Was currently trying to finish Via Infinito and then had to finish some side-plot in Bevelle.

Was so in shock that I didn't even feel anger or sadness. I just sat there staring at the screen and back at my friend. Eventually walked oover, ejected the disc, and broke the game into a bunch of small pieces while my friend watched. Then we played Twisted Metal Black.
>>
>>384420013
>The player is given one attempt to defeat Death as the final boss; if unsuccessful, Chakan states that "rest will come another day". He said "1 playthrough" though.

There's a choice in the game (Giving the orb with footage of a world destroying weapon to Yevonfags or not) that will lock you out of a 100% completion. Even the most autistic of all autists would have to be lucky enough to choose the right people, and speaking to the NPC's will make it clear that the right option for 100% is actually fucking stupid.

A game that, even besides asinine anti-autism obscure conditions, has a 50% chance minimum of ruining a perfect run. And he got it first try.

No one. NO ONE will believe him. Ever.
