I've never play Paper Mario but the only N64 games that I know have good framerates are F-Zero X, vanilla Smash, Doom 64 and Mischief Makers but that doesn't make N64 library unplayable, those frame issues really that bad on the Wii?

There's no frame rate drops in battles, so the game is still perfectly playable. but it goes to 15-25 FPS in a lot of the over world areas. On the 64 and Wii U it basically maintains its 30fps at all times.

I think we'll only get an accurate N64 emulator if someone were to build a new one from scratch with some real specifications on how the system functions. Project 64 has so much legacy code and hacks for specific games that all work done on it now isn't really going for accuracy, it's just making games playable.

Playing rom hacks on real hardware is cool and all, but some of the really cool Mario 64 hacks are just too much for the real system, so I'll settle for a cheap emulation if I get to play some cool SM64 levels.
