Never played Gothic but Elder Scrolls is barely an RPG anymore. The Witcher games have some of the best writing in any RPG on the market and their lore/worldbuilding is head and shoulders above the rest.

At what point in the witcher do you get to create/choose from preset characters with different roles and act out how that person would in specific context? lmao this shit is a movie with a cumshot of gameplay everytime i tried playing i cant help but feel like the cutscenes are really just too long and far too often. Call me an autistic adhd fuck who can't sit and enjoy a game thoroughly but really this game is just a snoozefest most of the time, the story while interesting and grabbing isnt all that entirely interesting throughout the whole game. There are times where you will be put into a talking dialogue that you aren't even interested about in the first place and it will take upwards of 10 minutes to complete. This happens a lot. Most of your time in this game is spent just sitting and reading dialogues. If you are into that kind of thing that's really fine but this game is seriously not even top 5 rpgs of the decade mate the people who act like its some incredible game are delusional. It's not fun.

Same with mass effect. It's not fun.

Not every game needs a rep system, what factions would you even use it for? There are so many options for combat; spells, swords, bombs, potions, oils, crossbow. You can invest in any of these as you see fit and mold your Geralt to how you like to play, not to mention gear and weapon choice which you can upgrade if you choose.
