>Leads on the project had never worked on a Dead Rising game prior to this.
>Tried to nostalgia-bait by bringing back Frank West, who now looks, acts and sounds nothing like he did in the first two games, because the devs wanted a “more mature” character.
>TJ Rotolo (voice of Frank) wasn't even contacted to do the project. The devs just wanted a new guy who'd do it for cheap.
>Devs claim that DR4 is going back to its roots despite everything that's completely different about it.
>Devs don't know what's canon to franchise, and often get facts about DR1&2 wrong in cutscenes.
>Annoying, cunty sidekick character. Who bitches and moans, and constantly makes things worse.
>OP Combo-Weapons/Vehicles and Wacky Costumes are pushed to the forefront, even moreso than DR3.
>Cannot drop weapons quickly or throw them, you need to pull up the inventory to do so.
>Skill moves are now tied to kill-combos and can't be pulled off instantaneously
>Hand-to-hand combat is neutered, because the devs want to force you to use weapons.
>Survivors are no longer escortable characters/partners. You save them from zombies, they drop an OP weapon and they fuck off.
>Survivors are completely randomized NPCs. No memorable encounters.
>Every zombie you kill drops money, which you can use to purchase OP weapons and vehicles at the games many identical safe houses, effectively killing the need to scavenge for supplies.
>Food no longer takes up inventory space, and instead fills up a first-aid meter.
>No mixed drinks as a result of this.
>Despite food and books no longer requiring inventory space, the game gives you 24 item slots at max level.
>Item slots aren’t freely open, and can only be used to carry certain types of weapons
>Power Armor.
>Generic enemies in wacky costumes with combo weapons replace the psychopaths. They have no cutscenes, no unique AI and no defined character.

>Map is emptier than previous games and has little interactivity
>DLC season pass is a lazy weapon re-skin pack, a DLC story in the same map and a shitty minigame. $25 on top of the $60 for the game.
>The DLC story is overtime mode that got cut from the retail game.
>The DLC story can be completed in 30 minutes, 60 if you're a completionist.
>Overtime Mode has only two endings, determined by how many pointless collectibles you picked up.
>Zombie Frank has a total of 3 attacks, and cannot use weapons at all.
>No crossbuy between Xbox One & Windows 10, despite initially being advertised as such.
>Glitched to high-hell and back. Safe houses lose survivors at random. Models can't emulate human faces right. Progress randomly gets lost. Some game-breaking instances have been reported.
