I hated how I predicted it and for some reason, a lot of people thought it wasn't going to happen. I LOVE Pac-Man's inclusion in the game and I love the way he plays. Someone who would ruin Smash permanently for me, more so than literally ANYONE else. I mean, I didn't care for Cloud's inclusion and I still kinda feel like he doesn't really belong and I fucking hate Corrin but at least those are video game characters. I'll take literally ANYONE over Goku, so long as they're from a video game. Sora? Sure, why the fuck not? Master Chief? Hell yeah, that would be pretty fucking cool, actually. Doomguy? Sheeit, you could do something with that. Dragon Quest rep? Eh, I don't give a fuck about DQ in the least, but it'd be an opportunity for them to finally have a character with a leveling up gimmick, which is what I wanted out of a Final Fantasy rep. Assassin's Creed guy? CoD guy? At least those would be from video games.

The fucking minute Goku is a confirmed fighter is the minute Smash is dead to me. That would be the one true jumping the shark moment for the series. I'm okay with the series transitioning from 'Nintendo All-Stars and fanservice,' to 'video games in general All-Stars and fanservice'. But fuck Goku. He's not even a video game character, he's an anime character.

I would only be okay with him if we got Superman as well, so we could finally enact Goku vs. Superman.

This right here, man. I have such mixed opinions on this. On the one hand, giving someone like Ryu Custom Moves could've been really cool, since Ryu has a history of Special Moves they could pull from, in all the games he's been in (and they could just make stuff up too). But the fact that literally NONE of the DLC characters ever got any Custom Moves just tells me that Sakurai just stopped giving a shit and knew that the whole thing was a half-baked idea with a shitty execution.

Well when a lot of the moves are "It's quicker but weaker" or "It goes higher, but doesn't deal damage" yeah it was half baked, but then there's some really cool shit in there too like Luigis ice fireball or most of Charizards.

The weirdest thing was that there's data for custom moves for Mewtwo, someone managed to find a way to cheat them in and they're not finished, but they are there.

I think it was a matter of resources. Keep in mind that the team Sakurai had for developing DLC content was much smaller than the team he had for when developing the base game. If they took the time and resources to give DLC characters custom specials, then there probably would of been less DLC characters altogether.
