It's pretty close for me personally. I really enjoyed the story in 2 more, seemed a bit more coherent. Not being able to punch everyone into a bloody pulp all the time though made it a little less fun to me, but not enough to make a clear difference between 1 and 2.

In the end, who cares what game is better when they're both really solid

I'm not even mad about them not updating character sprite sheets but they could let us do that. You can, sort of, do that by replacing Hammer with character of your choice, because community made finished sprites for every character with every weapon, but small stuff won't get carried over like Pigman's super fast stomp or Writer's non-lethal stuff.

That and no official support for custom music, gotta move fuckhuge wads around.
