Every first run I do of a game is vanilla unless there are utterly gamebreaking bugs that make it consistently unplayable.

I don't think being able to mod a game should increase its score positively or negatively and it should be judged on the merits of the game itself. Because saying the game is 'better' because of mods lets banal garbage like Skyrim get released and accepted
