Modern games and their reliance on cancer meta, esports, and streamers have drained all the fun out of multiplayer. Streamers themselves aren't that bad as they tend to not be disruptive of the game but devs pandering to them ruins so many good concepts like Dead by Daylight.

I am. I no longer want to be the best, I just want to have fun. I'm fine with being outskilled in games but when people rely on exploits to win it takes all the fun away. It's only become a problem because of high traffic sites like Reddit where someone could find something like the invincibility rock in World at War and post it for millions to see, and every server ends up with someone prone in that rock. Back when that exploit was an actual problem people had to see it for themselves to even know it existed.
