Why don't video games have cheat codes anymore?

Higher ups don't think to request cheat codes in their game. You can sell cheatmodes as DLC.

Games are all easy enough for your granny to beat. Besides, cheats would allow console games (which all modern PC games are derived off) to require even further less effort for fake points a lot more easier.
Or they could be set up in a way to allow homebrews which MS and Sony thinks is terrible.
