I'll try to find it, I believe it was on his website. It wasn't anything extreme, I don't think he even mentioned tumblr, but he said he doesn't like what the fanbase had become and wanted to distance himself from the game.

You could argue any silent protagonist. I said Lucas as he speaks in chapter 1-3 and when you play as him he kind of just is passive, like that scene in club titiboo where he just orders a water and gets ridiculed.

I said it because I browsed tumblr then, still do honestly. For awhile OFF was HUGE on tumblr, like undertale huge there. Teen girls drawing shitty art and posting shitty shipping theories was constant for awhile. Now it's died down obviously, they moved on to whatever the next trend was, but it left its mark.
