Oh well, I definitely agree with you there and that the series caters to the masses. It's just a shame, I know they did a Greek setting at first since they needed to establish the IP and all. But now they have the fanbase and the brand is strong enough for them to pursue fresh settings and have a pretty good following to support it. In the end, they just decide to go with the safe choice. Just makes it a dull choice. Still, I was hyped to see Jormungandr in the new trailer, the world serpent interests me a lot as a concept for a mythical creature. I was even hyped to see it in TR Underworld only to find out it's not a creature but some ancient doomsday device instead. What a shame.

Forced cuckoldry memes aside, it just seems like really lazy emotional pandering. Basically banking on the success of The Last of Us. God of War always had a lot of cinematic bullshit but it was more action-oriented, more in line with a "Greek epic", it wasn't a parenting simulator. This shit looks like a completely different type of game. Also considering how much emphasis they're putting on the story, I very much doubt the writing will be good enough to match. Previous games were ridiculous over the top nonsense and they knew it, this game seems to be taking itself much more seriously.
