People seem to think things when to shit after 9/11 but I think things from Late 2001-2006 were still fantastic. It was ~2006-2007 with the PS3, Wii, iPhones, Great Recession, social media, the fucking Big Bang Theory, etc. where things truly went downhill.

The sheer volume of vidya being released has more good titles released in a year than you had through all the 'good old times'. There's even good AAA titles occasionally.
