I know this is bait but

To do a "z motion" in street fighter, simply do down forward, down, down forward. The shortcut works on every character.

To do a "360 motion" simply do a half circle back, then immediately up forward. That's how zangief players are able to do it without jumping.

Theyre still stuck in horrible unintuitive mechanics because Fighting games are an outdated and niche genre these days. Only the dedicated FGC actually plays them anymore and would bitch and whine if capcom or any company ever dared try to improve their broken concepts.

I don't know if I'm a fucking genius or something, but I went from spamming HP and HK in the Super Nintendo SF games straight to SFV. While I did have issues with doing specials at first, I don't think I had to dedicate that much time to train my muscle memory to get the motion basically down on one side. Fighting fellow Rookies/low Bronzes, you don't even deal with crossups that much, so it's a pretty safe noob tactic to assume you won't be switching sides

This touches on another point. I don't want to follow youtube study courses just to get off the ground in a video game. I have not done this for any other genre of video game, or for the easier fighting games. You know what the "study course" is for every other video game? The game itself, even for multiplayer games. Level 2 follows level 1; more skilled opponents follow easier ones. The game itself serves as the entire world when I'm playing it, and every second spent following an outside prescription just breaks immersion. Stopping to think applies to strategizing, not to weird meta-analysis of my own development.

No ingame tutorials will teach you starting builds in Starcraft, item builds and whole metagame for mobas or shit like nade throwing in CS. I'll give you a hint. The difficulty in performing some motions leads to the action taking longer to perform. Meaning some options are harder to do quickly. Beating someone jumping in on you with a special move like a shoryken takes faster reactions or prediction, but gives more reward than using a simple punch anti-air.
