As I said- if they went their own direction with it, maybe padded it out with actual puzzles a bit more- it would have made a fine non-silent hill game. Like walking around in the woods in winter at midnight listening to audiologs about dead kids is pretty creepy. But walking in with expectations really ruins it because you're kind of waiting for things to happen that ties it in to silent hill.

Mount the ISOs of 2 & 3, and then run their installers like always.
The SH1 is a PS1 rip that you gotta emulate.
The "sh2proxy" is a all-in-one fix, that works as a no-cd crack as well. It is included in the pack.
If you use the NEW fix mentioned in the guide, you can use the sh2proxy's EXE as the no-cd crack!

In case you experience issues saving the game / not being able to edit the disp.ini, make sure the files aren't set to "Read Only", and run the game as Administrator.
If SH2 gets stuck in a black screen upon launch, close it and re-start it again.

SH2-4 do not support Xinput gamepads. Either use Xpadder, a DirectInput pad, or just play with KB+M.
You can now see some decent emulator settings for SH1 as well in the guide. If the image of the game does NOT fill your entire screen in fullscreen mode, check your plugin AND GPU control panel's image scaling settings!
Also give the new PGXP emulator a shot for a lot less wobbly PS1 graphics.

I haven't played anything regarding SH4 since I played the demo before release when I was little. I had 0 reason to never delve into it either because I loved SH 1-3 and replayed them so many times.

I think my Silent Hill would be a recurring event where it worsens over time. It starts off great, I find my way around easily, do great at puzzles, then I'd wake up again, starting over and things degrade over time. The world around me would start to turn to shit. Male figures that were twitchy, and almost 'phasing' in and out of existence to match how I've never really had a father figure.

Women, who would taunt me and shove me into corners while stomping and cutting me over and over.

The world would become ever so cruel. Babies crying because I hate the sound of it, think Max Payne where he's running on umbilical cords, except louder.

I would find a forest, only to find a burning house filled with the limited friends I have to despair my hope.

Time would become stuck, an infinite loop of horror, visions that would psychologically dismay me.

I'd probably go insane and become schizophrenic.
