I won't complain if a character I like is top-tier, but I seem to be cursed. I've played Alex since SF3, for example, and he's been shit every time he's shown up.

the power creep in pokemon is insane. it's unrealistic for GF to properly balance all 400+ fully evolved pokemon along with legendaries and pseudos etc, but GF in particularly are fucking awful at balance.

I disagree, if a character is visibly broken, OP, or just shadows over the rest of the cast, there's nothing wrong with complaining. A character should never be OP compared to the rest, only a tad bit better. For example see 1.1.4 Bayonetta, or Petshop from JJBA :HtF. Those are complaint worthy.

This statement is way too general

They can mean a lot if the skill ceiling of the strong character is low enough so it has an edge in mid level play

If a character is better than others because he simply has bigger hitboxes or faster framedata on everything they will be broken in all levels of play.

If a character is top tier because of obscure techniques and stuff that requires skill to pull of it doesnt matter for anyone but the higher brackets.

But flat out saying it doesnt matter on lower levels is just wrong, that entirely depends on the game and the character we are talking about.

I ignore the tierlist because it doesn't matter much unless you're at the tippy top of competitive play. Even then, people work with it, like FAB with Potemnkin in Xrd.

I enjoy characters who do fucktons of damage but aren't glacially slow. Leo in GG, Birdie in V, Cody in IV, etc.

This is the reason I dislike league of legends. It's nothing but numbers, nobody gives a shit about what the character represents or what it does, its special "thing" it has. Champions become generic juggernaut tanks, and everyone just cares about patch notes and numbers.

That's not a game, it doesn't spark my imagination or make me happy, it makes me go through a set of actions and calculate damage and resources, but I don't like that.
