Literally everything about it, this game was a dream come true for me. Some personal highlights include:
- The "Preview to Path C & D" after Ending B. I had some serious Kojimbo flashback and had to laugh, it was amazing as well.
- The whole beginning of Route C leading up to the opening. It felt like the game was really starting after 30 hours.
- Finding Emil's cave and all the Lunar Tears, seeing Kainé's hut and hearing her theme. Serious goosebumps
- "9S...We've been expecting you..." - the callback to NieR with Popola and Devola but this time they are on your side. Their whole backstory
- Whole Tower segment and mindfucks. Popola's library
- Ending Chorus & Ending E
- Final Boss: Square Enix
- Falling for that Save Game Delete a second time
>>384352864

>>384352570
For some reason the world in NieR is set into some constant half twilight. There are no longer real nights. Don't know why that is
>>384351375
Brainlet.
It's probably my favourite game of all time
pods and music
I think the Copied City could have easily been one of the locations from original NieR as well - maybe Nier's village or Seafront?
>>384351329
>What was your favorite part of Nier Automata?
Unironically route A.
The best route. It always amuses me how people are missing a lot of context and details in 2b's character development during the A route but I fully enjoyed the story and the final part. Very emotional and well-directed.
I also enjoyed the beginning of route C and the bunker's blowup with music and titles. Very nice directing as well. But the rest of the route - not so much honestly. Don't know why, I was just "okay" about the events there. Nothing shocking, nothing surprising. A2 needs more screen time. Machines were pretty simple minded in the end and I expected a better motivation and explanation.
I don't know, I wish the game had more depth. Even with all side materials and stuff it's somewhat on-surface. Not going to say that Nier Replicant was any better. In fact Drakengard 1 has the best depth and development in my opinion.
Also enjoyed to discuss the Watchers' connection, Plant and other shit. It's probably loose end though, even the tattoo is hardly justified and makes little sense. And while Taro says there's a connection between N2 and Red Eye there's absolutely no room to discuss anything about it because Taro didn't fucking bother to write something about that.
Shame about Accord too, why even mention her and ignore? DLC sucks too.
Overall the game is typical Taro's imperfection. Good romantic / existential story about 2b and 9s and their inhuman research about the humanity and attempts to parrot / become humans.
>>384353026
NieR is my favourite game of all times and Nier a tomato did something I thought impossible...I like it just as much, maybe a little bit more because after all the suffering there is still a glimpse of hope.
9S's English voice actor.

>>384353601

>>384351329
The start of route C because that's where the story drops all pretense of trying to be uplifting (until ending E at least) and we get full on the Taro Express.
As for gameplay, I think the Opera bossfight. I know I saw it in the trailer but I think it's one of the best in the game.
Good thread.
>>384353685
The opera boss is the only one that REALLY felt like a boss to me. The rest didn't feel nearly that much like a boss, just like bigger enemies with larger health bars. It had a unique design and a very unique moveset.
At the Tower segment I was only really hoping they would somewhat expand on humanity's data saved on the Moon server - maybe even with Yonah and Kainé being restored as Replicants or something, but I guess that would have been tooo much.
The library from Nier was my favorite bit. Didn't actually see that coming even though I should've.
>>384351329
Where I found out that self destructing actually just removed her skirt and i just stared at 2bs ass most of her part.
Back when I played the first NieR I got really upset after learning about the "truth" of the world and I thought the best solution was simply to destroy everything and let the planet try anew on its own, since everything was so fucked up. So I could understand 9S when he went completely berserk in the Tower.
>>384353016
not a word
>>384353881
Even the Boss Trophies are there!
>>384353772
That is a problem with a lot of bosses this game has...especially that fucking bullet hell water boss. I hated having to do that twice. I think Eve's last form was better because he actually got a new moveset (compared to Adam). But in general this game had some pretty wrak bosses, especially considering you have to fight Engels like four or five times.

The Earth stopped rotating for some reason, so there aren't any day/night cycles anymore. I was never clear on what exactly caused that, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was just something Taro wrote in to explain the in-game lack of a day/night cycle.
>>384354225
If the earth stopped rotating then there would still be 6 months of night and 6 months of day. Unless the Earth is somehow fixed in one spot and isn't rotating around the sun.
>>384351329

Unironically the love story between 9S and 2B. It's good to see /ss/, the purest form of love, being finally brought into the manstream
>>384354356
It still orbits the sun, it's just that it's rotation slowed down enough to always face the sun the same way similar to how the moon always faces the earth the same way. Either way though, it's not really a big thing in the Nier universe and is just how it is.
>>384354503

I just finished this game yesterday. I got ending e. It took me a bit to understand the full scope of the ending and all that, but after sleeping on it, my fucking god what a game. Thinking back on how many things tied up, like the amnesia quest (I was actually thinking during that quest that it seems a bit too foreshadowy to be a coincidence and I was somewhat right) or the wandering couple or 2b's first opening monologue.
Also holy fucking shit, weight of the world initially didnt hit me that hard because I was focusing on the bullet hell, but after re-doing the ending again today it got the waterworks flowing a touch.
But nothing in the game fucks me like listening to Kaine in the lunar tear cave. I had that song stuck in my head the entire day and I felt like breaking out into a sob every 10 minutes.
This game is fucking incredible, I've never felt the things I've felt while playing this game in my entire life.

It was representative of Pod 042 trying to salvage 2B and 9S's memories and data to bring them back. The dev credits are what you see, but it's not really what's going on in-universe. 042 also didn't expect to make it out alive either, which is why he's so embarassed about it afterwards, he wanted to go down in a blaze of glory.

Just played the demo. Disappointed, but it's my fault. I really should've picked up on the whole waifushit as a sign of the actual game's mediocrity.
I do have to wonder what went through Kamiya's mind. "Hey, let's make Bayonetta/MGR, but with no comedy, no style, completely straight-faced and serious and fill out the missing pieces with anime tropes"

But difficulty settings allow you to make the game challenging for people of different skill levels. It also adds replayability for people who get better at the game while playing through it and can then make the game more challenging on subsequent playthroughs. Don't post the first version of the timeline I put out. I even made sure to revise that line so people wouldn't get the idea that Pascal had been involved in the armistice.
The Peace Faction was already large and educated enough at that point to carry on without Pascal's leadership.
One thing I really liked about this game is how the overworld music would sometimes change during certain side quests upon their conclusion, and then keep playing afterwards as you continue on exploring. A really great way of keeping a lingering sweet or creepy feeling depending on the quest.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ne1HcEU7sho
>>384374787
Yes the game gives you options to decide how challenging you want it to be, again did you play on easy automatic mode? Deciding not to use that is the same as deciding not to stock up on healing items and pause to use them in fights so you're practically invincible.

>>384375872
Near the start 9S says this a simple recon mission and he questions bringing a combat unit along, you aren't exactly being sent to the frontlines.
After ending E it's revealed that A2 simply won't turn on anymore, while 9S refuses to be activate due to the guilt he feels, so 2B is left alone to wander the world.Literally could not tell you where I read it but its canon.

The tense of the sentence. In that line Pascal is referred to have USED to been a part of the Peace Faction.
If they wanted to say he was currently a part of the Peace Faction and was involved in the armistice negotiations they would have used a present tense like in other parts of the timeline. It was something I looked over as I did my first revision but I had forgotten to keep an internal timeline consistency based on the way they used verb tenses to explain events or introduce points. But I went back and made sure to correct it for that line.

Wait until it's patched or on sale.
You can use FAR mod if you have any performance issues though.

Been a while since I got ending C, butdoesn't she sacrifice herself to save 9S,
since it was 2B's last wish?
If people play ending E over and over but always choose to keep their data will it eventually become impossible to get help?
>>384391057
I guess, but how exactly she did it?
>>384391363
Maybe. But you need do it more than thosand times
>>384391943
Pod 042 gives you hacking properties earlier. Remember in the library in the tower?
>>384382845
kill him and bring him happiness.his kids are onboard the ark. killing him makes him go there too, so unless you pick ending c and kill them all, they'll live a happy life afterwards.
>>384392372
She take care of his virus by using her body or what?
>>384381548
>>384392869
I like Japanese video games.
>>384392831
She transfers it from 9S to herself
>>384393139
The more I find out and uncover the small details I missed in this game the more depressed I get.
Come on I already cried 30 times over this game, do I have to cry for the 31st time too?
>>384351329
So, why is this game so boring to play? It has beautiful scenery and music but the gameplay is just repeating the same strong combo or standing back and shooting. Does it get more involved?
>>384392769
Not the kids that experienced life at the village.
All of the bots in Pascals village disconnected from the network meaning they were no longer uploading to the ark. all of the memories from the point that they disconnected from the network would be lost.
>>384393010
the androids faces are so cute i get turned on
>>384393139
For some dumb reason i thought she tried to save "humanity" or something and this bothered me. Thanks anon, now i get it.
>>384393647
no they didn't. n2 let them to think they were disconnected as a part of an experiment, but the only machine that was truly disconnected was probably masamune, and likely adam right before his death. everyone else believed they were disconnected only to get fucked over at the end.
>>384393852
If Adam was disconnected how was he there in the Ark asking 9S to join him?
>>384393571
>2017
>playing games for the gameplay
everyone look at this pleb and laugh
>>384393672
>>384394665
I think the anon meant that Adam was only disconnected right before his death in the fight against 2B. That's why Eve didn't know where he was. Some remnant of him from prior to that fight was in the Ark already.
>>384393672
>>384393647
None of the machines were actually disconnected from the network except for maybe Masamune and the Machine on Break. It's why Pascal's village suddenly went apeshit, the network was essentially finishing up its experiment. I wish the game explored this a bit more, it's only mentioned once I believe but I thought it was a really interesting plot point.
>>384391363
I think that player data will regenerate after some time.
2B's facial expressions as she kills Adam are the cutest expressions of all time.
>>384394886
Since we're on adam, can someone explain to me what the fuck he was? Was were he and Eve the only android look-alike machines?
>>384351329
The [E]nd credits
When 2B screams as they're escaping the space station and the intro credits roll. I think it's my favorite moment in any video game I've played.
>>384395076
Her awkward, barely noticeable smile when she looks at 9S after that battle was absolutely adorable.
Also when 9S bullshits death in route A and she can't conceal her emotions towards him anymore.
>>384394918
what race of humans have faces like this? are the russians? if so i will live in russia
>>384394918
What is causing her to make that expression?
>>384395775
She looks at a guy she loves more than anything.
>>384395775
She just finished choking 9S.
>>384390931
>saving possible
Nothing can save you there.
>>384393524
>crying
>>384395556

>>384396072
I dont give a shit. I got a hole betwixt my legs not a dangly part Im allowed to be an emotional pos.
what the fuck is this game?
>beat'em up
no
>comboshit
NO!
>3rd person shooter
maybe
plot is an excuse for dull gameplay
>>384393672
i could totally understand why he did this
she looked too cute, like if she was sleeping
>>384351329
The Windows desktop appearing at the most unexpected moments due to a crash, forcing a level restart after 40 mins of mildly entertaining gameplay.

An hack'n'slash arpg
>>384351329
2b's design is GENIUS
Imagine sliding your finger under 9S' choker and drawing little circles around his adam's apple while you feel his heartbeat.
>>384398272
2B go to bed.
>>384351329
every part that didn't include 9S
>>384398039
Em, why?? In story it doesn't have sense.
>>384398272
2B, please.
>>384357087
BUTT YOU CAN HARDLY SWALLOW
>>384398503
How doesn't it?
>>384357087
WOO!AW YEAH
>>384357087
Is she trying to sit on her own face?
Bayonetta is a better game.
>Better combat
>More creative designs
>Sexier girl
Am I wrong?
>>384359829
>bought the child's core and hold on to it for him
I don't care that nothing comes out from doing that.
>>384399539
but does she have an ass to rival 2B's
>>384399539
>Sexier girl
Yes you're wrong, Bayonetta looks like a mutant.
>>384399556
Same.
>>384399539
Bayonetta had a cameo in Nier, her legs were the roller coaster.
>>384351329
The steam weebs bought my booster cards crafts $1-2 a card for 2-3 weeks to make 2b backgrounds.
Wish the game was actually good though.....
