Is Ni no Kuni good?

The first half is extremely slow. But other than that, it's pretty good.
Very nice visuals, ok story, neat gameplay (although a bit slow), nice soundtrack.
The voice acting is a bit off putting and the backtracking is astonishingly tedious at times.
Solid 6.5/10, maybe even 7.

I've never wanted to like a game more and failed so much. It has a lot going for it but falls flat. Particularly the combat system and the extra ending section tacked on to Wrath of the White Witch.

this is what made me stop playing desu, your companion is actually retarded and playing solo would be better.

ni no kuni is what pokemon should have evolved into. the game isn't perfect though. i thought the combat system was interesting even though the execution failed. enough of this turn based jrpg trash. i hope they refine the system in the second game

Visuals and atmosphere are amazing closest to playing a ghibli movie ever... combat is a mess..
It was worth it to me on a visual standpoint alone and i liked the monster capturing and training.. but again the combat itself..is lol
Also it has the old kinda snes jrpg difficulty.

Every single boss battle in that game ended with both my AI partners dead and me slowly chipping away at the boss' health for half an hour while dodging their extremely predictable moves.
