Regardless, these new savage fights are not about DPS checks. They're all about executing mechanics. If darkest night allows more leeway for healers to DPS and paladins to use sword oath more then it's a straight up party DPS boost.

Eh, I don't mind so long as it's only one other person to roll against. I play bard so i'm only going against Ninjas, if they're even in the party to begin with. Most pugs are pretty ok after a few rounds of learning the fight and explaining it to them. The ones that aren't you just kick and replace.

You start the fight in the air then get a 100g blue circle marker your group has to stack in to be put on the floor. The first double set that comes out works the exact same (assuming you got put on the floor) as the Normal version where there's a hole on the floor, in the center, that you just stand in. After that a second double will come up with one person floating and the rest on the ground. You sink into the ground until the explosion, you use gravity to ascend to the yellow in the air then stack in that one. After that there's a small rng on when the next blue 100g marker will come out but it will either as the tentacles are being placed or beforehand. After that it's... honestly just repeat with a ocuple other tacked on mechanics that are pretty ????.

Dunno who you are watching but we cleared 1S on our third pull and 2S at the beginning of our 2nd lockout and I don't think my group is all that amazing, we are pretty casual and don't have anyone who is really ranking on fflogs or anything. I can see people pugging the first two with a pretty high clear rate in a day or two.
3S is a fair bit harder but it's not that complex either, there's a couple mechanics where lots of things are on screen at the same time but the solutions are all incredibly straightforward and simple so as long as you aren't the kind of group that gets overwhelmed by flashy effects you should be able to cruise through rather easily. Dunno how the enrage is but I doubt it's a big concern. Our best pull before we called it a day was around 35% after a bit less than 2 lockouts, wiped on the face X direction status debuff shit.
As long as the enrage isn't insane, which again I really doubt it is, I can easily see a lot of midcore groups clearing this in a day or two.

SCH buffs were actually pretty good. Most of their issues were fixed thankfully.

My only issue is shields are still expensive and last about as long as a fart in the breeze. Most SCH will most likely be stacking crit materia, and having one DH VI materia for extra DPS.

So what cards combos are actually worth using now? Is Expanded Balance/Arrow still good? 5% for all members doesn't seem much, especially Expanded Spear.
Seems like the best way to utilize the cards is to use Enhanced Spear on SAMs.

cards are pretty much memes when aoed. theres no reason to even use royal road aoes. everything should ne enchanced and given to the best dps. 5% dps increase is nothing at the end of the day unoesss you draw a balance every time you aoe. the 5% crit is pure rng and usless. the speed buff is also useless. so really cards are usless and astro is just a better shielder than sch thats about all.
