An obvious example is how many early 3D games used shoulder buttons to rotate the camera horizontally.
This is a dated mechanic with the standardization of analog cameras via stick input.

Thus, it has aged.
Aging poorly generally means that the feature is no longer enjoyable as much as it was when the game was new.
It doesn't hold up.
