Did this game really deserve a 9/10?

I haven't played an ass' game since black flag.
should I play this one?
No. I didn't even finish it.

It's the best game in the series
Obviously ratings are subjective but I would say yes

It's ok for the setting and characters. Still clunky controls though.
Nah, never. It was one of the lowest scored in the series too.
The last 9/10 AC was black flag. Only ones worth playing are ezio's trilogy and that.
Fuck no. It absolutely nailed the atmosphere, but everything else is pretty shit.
It's not amazing, but it's one of the better entries in the series. London is really cool, and the assassination missions are greatly improved with multiple goals, paths, and entry points.
The story was pretty bad though. I mean, not iredeemable, but ultimately useless. Worth noting I played Syndicate before Unity, and I actually found Unity to have a much better story. Cutscenes were a bit slower and felt like they actually had real actors on screen, with real dramatic pacing. Syndicate was just "lol hey guys let's go kill obviously evil dude" and then they do it and everyone cheers.
Throwing knives are overpowered.

Oh jesus I thought this was 4
never mind
If you thought tailing missions were bad you're in for a treat with the addition of wagons, tail wagons on foot, tail wagons in wagons, tail people on foot who then get into a wagon to tail, be amazed as every wagon handles worse than those of red dead redemption.

I remember one tailing mission took like ten minutes of following some guy across the map.

you sound bad desu
if you're talking about the kidnap missions, they're honestly not that hard, especially if you use rooks. you can really just cheese it by repeatedly tackling them

>you sound bad
Nigga, you forget where you are.
This is /v/. Everyone here is complete shit at video games.
>>384332575
They're bad because they're tedious. It was always bad in the series but Syndicate made it infinite times more annoying.
it was okay, I liked London
>>384332802
i can agree with that; syndicate's missions were plenty tedious
>never got used to driving on the left side of the road
>would always have low health on my cart by the time i got anywhere cause i kept crashing into people driving on the wrong side of the road
fucking london
i didn't like playing the girl segments
i always felt weaker than normal, like i was forced into stealth
i ended up spending most of my time as the guy, even through the stealth segments because i like to roll with the punches when i fuck my stealth up
>>384332575
What is it about autistic people and their propensity for confusing tedium with difficulty? Is that why you guys like DS2?
>>384333270
man punching shit is probably the most fun thing to do in the game
I don't think I've killed anyone because I just punch them
In addition to the tedious missions and other shit that the other anons mentioned, all of the clothing options were overdesigned bullshit and your weapons don't appear on your character until you get into a fight.
Everything was alright... except Evie Frye.
Perfect example of a Mary Sue. And Mary Sues are boring as fuck. They make shitty characters and stories. I guess they were trying to pander to the sjw crowd and didn't want her to do anything stupid or bad so they made her into the perfect mary sue.
Evie is the most boring Assassins Creed character in the entire series.
