I still read and post there on boards for a few really old games that only get a few posts a month.
For games that you like that don't have large, dedicated fanbases, it can be pretty nice.

Whenever I finish a game, I like googling for opinions on the game as well as the ending, which always result in Gamefaqs threads, so I go there every so often. I've never actually really gone on the site otherwise though, even years ago

I used to log in every day from 2006-2012 just for the dumb karma system. Higher levels gets to you access exclusive (ie autistic) message boards. I didn't use the damn boards, why did I keep doing it.

I remember using it when I was 9 because I couldn't wrap my head around anything in breath of fire 3. Honestly I half wish I never discovered it because I started optimizing and picking the best characters instead of making my own fun choices.

I still use it rarely because I have a dedicated troll account on the comics board, mostly to piss off dumb brainwashed marvel kiddies

this is really strange amalgamation of having good walkthroughs for pre 2009-10 titles and absolutely useless forum section, where's not a single question solved and responses are just full of insults.

Then the walkthrough writing crowd went to steam when they opened the "Guides" section in steam community, when every fuckhead realised they can get small dosh from recording every walkthrough as a youtube video, and that's when everything went to shit
